Phnom Penh, Cambodia April,17,1975 many Cambodians were forced to move out of Phnom Penh city do agricultural work at the countryside.The Khmer Rouge lies that there will be no trucks bringing food into Phnom Penh city. They also told people that America was going to bomb Phnom Penh so, everyone were evacuated.

On the same date above the Khmer Rouge soldiers were entering Phnom Penh. People were “waving white cloths and white shirts” to welcome the Khmer Rouge. They thought that Cambodia was about to be free but, the
Khmer Rouge took their belongings and people who refused would be killed or taken away. There was no exception to the evacuation even if people were sick, injured, old or pregnant so Phnom Penh was empty and became a “ghost city” after they had force 2 million people out of the city. Only administrative officer, soldier and factories workers are left in the city and the only shop open is the Central market.

A few days after the evacuation, the Khmer Rouge shows had another propaganda of having a ceremony “to pay homage” to those people who died during the war. In Beijing there are more than 10, 000 people and leaders celebrate r the victory over America. The Prince Norodom Sihanouk didn’t attend. He was with his mom, queen Sisowath Kossamak Neary Roth Vathana who was dead in Beijing. The prince had been in Beijing since 1970. The Chinese government had give him a lot of support both emotional and political even a comfortable villa to live in.
