In our literacy class, we learned how to write Slam Poetry. After we write our poem we perform it to our classmate, after that our class and teacher choose one person from each team to the final. I was one of the final people in my class.
Here is my poetry, I hope you enjoy reading.
We need rights
Black people, white people, girls, boys, men and women, poor people, rich
people, they are all human.
It doesn’t matter what language I speak
It doesn’t matter what I believe in
It doesn’t matter where I live
It doesn’t how I look
It doesn’t matter who I am
Because I am who I am
Who’s care?
So let start!! One by one
A. Spiritual traditions is like what you believe, B education is like light bulb, C
self-determination is like thing can build you up, D self respect is for losers
like rose, E self-esteem is like bucket of water, A language is like cracked
kettle, O media is like the weather, P employment is like a marriage, P
economic, P social development, V resource development, V self-
government, G health is like money, H, culture is like an iceberg, M
indigenous law, C customs is like foot binding, N executive agreement is
like a treaty, Q family is like a puzzle, Z responsibility is like a string, Z
identity is like an onion, X caring for country, M equality is like gravity, Z
respect for elders.
Everybody want all of theses things!! But they just can’t afford. This a part
of human right. People need rights for all of this and even more.
Why everybody keep fighting, hating?
What about those people who don’t have light?
They frightened, because no one give them right.
Human like candle in the wind
We can die in every second.
So they need their own right
Human right only two words with 10 letters
But billion billion million of people need this
People have right to eat
have right to sit
have right to do athlete
have right to read
have right to married
have right to do action, collaborations, comprehension, conversation,
meditations, demonstration.
right to live, liberty, personal security
No one shall be held in slavery or servitude.
WO WO WO, and their many million more of rights
Life is like the scale
Human weigh with different things
But still no one better than anybody
Black people are matter
Disability people are matter
Women are matter, women are the mother of earth
They can change the world
No one should judge
Our color, language or religion
Erase all racist and give value and more volume to all people.
This is sad to people that don’t have light, need something bright and
shine to the world.
Come on people everything is start from us.
We born to be equal, we want everybody to be equal, everybody are
equal.
Peace, peace everyone want peace.
