Phnom Penh Film Festival (PPYFF)

Currently, we are planning on a new Youth Film Festival that will be host in Phnom Penh this year. Our goal is to introduce film making to government students to contribute to the growth of our national film industry, give the students themselves possible future careers, and open up their minds to different ways of expressing their thoughts or addressing different problems in society. With this aim, we are working to teach them the basics of scriptwriting, film producing, and film editing.

In order to make this successful, we’re the organizer will be going to several places to host a film workshop for those specific students/schools. The workshop will last for three days, and the attendants are required to submit their film during the workshop. The top 4 films from each school will be showcased during the Youth Film Festival with those additional films from Phnom Penh.

Students will be divided into teams for each workshop so that not mean that everyone will get to visit all of the provinces. The provinces that we are aiming for are Koh Kong, Kompong Cham, and Kompong Speu province. Students will be working closely with groups of students that are signing up for the workshop to produce the best film quality for the Festival. The workshop will then be hosted for three days in each province.
